Attractions of Thornham Hall
 by Lesley, Lady Henniker-Major

The 20th century Thornham Hall  reflects its Tudor, Georgian and Victorian predecessors, with its open fires, spacious rooms and fine porcelain and portraits. The surrounding stables, by Lamb, the statuesque water tower and charming roundhouse add to the atmosphere. Thornham Hall is set in magnificent parkland and formal gardens at the heart of the Thornham Estate where Lesley's late philanthropic father-in-law, Lord Henniker, opened a field centre with 13 miles of walks and rides.
In 2001 Lesley opened a restaurant in the old coach house. The chef, David Pickles was an award winning student and has now won an award for The Restaurant.
Having lived abroad most of her unconventional life, Lesley's fine country house cooking is often influenced by foreign flavours, and her seasonal game dishes have become renown.  David shares Lesley's enjoyment of English country dishes and creates delicious traditional dishes with modern flair.
Guest usually eat in the Hall's restaurant,
where they can choose from David's accomplished menu. House guests
may enjoy a 'Set 3 course dinner with choices from £17.95.
Lesley enjoys entertaining as it is something she has done all her life, and
house parties are especially welcomed.
That is what Thornham Hall has always been famous for ever since
the Prince Regent and Lily Langtree stayed here in the last century.
